Portable & fixed systems to ensure optimum vehicle loading.

Overloaded vehicles damage roads, bridges and underground services producing a massive reduction in predicted road life expectancy and dramatically increasing maintenance costs.

Our range of axle weighers, including portable axle weighing scales and axle weigh pads are a cost effective solution. They provide fast and accurate axle and gross weight information for all vehicle types from light vans to the heaviest multi-axle vehicles.

Axle weighers help avoid overloading, increase fuel economy, reduce wear and improve safety.

What are the advantages of axle weighing?

Axle weighing helps ensure that vehicles are safely loaded to their rated capacity and to avoid the many problems associated with imbalance and overloading. Common issues include increased fuel consumption and vehicle wear and tear, road damage, the risk of rollover, and an adverse effect on vehicle handling such as an increased stopping distance.

Government and Traffic Commissioners are putting a greater focus on identifying overloaded vehicles, with an increasing number of vehicles being stopped and checked. In addition the installation of secret road sensors on UK roads has given authorities a new tool with which to identify and target offenders. Weighing the axles of vehicles (LCVs & HGVs) before they leave your site ensures your business stays within the law while also maximising fleet efficiency and safety.

Whether you need a heavy duty weighing solution, the ability to weigh-in-motion, or a system that is fully portable, Avery Weigh-Tronix has an axle weighing solution to meet your requirements.

Portable axle weighers

Portable axle weighing scales vary from simple static weighing systems suitable for light vans and two-axle vehicles, through to heavy duty in-motion scales (pictured, left) which make weighing multi-axle combinations a safe and simple procedure.

Ideal for managing fleet compliance through periodic audit, these systems can help to minimise over and under loading. Operators can choose between a straight forward display of wheel, gross vehicle and axle weight or a more comprehensive display that compares the weight recorded with those legally permitted by vehicle type.
