Since the group installed their first 20T/7.5×2.5m mechanical weighbridge (Jagadeesh Enterprises) back in 1980,  there has been a marked increase in industrial development in the area. Where a single weighbridge used to be sufficient to serve this industrial area, industrial growth had fuelled demand. As a result, Latha Public Weighbridges installed additional truck scales to meet demand, with seven now in operation with capacities up to 150 Tons and dimensions up to 18x4m. The group also installed the first electronic public weighbridge in India.

Besides increasing the number of weighbridges it owns, Latha Public Weighbridges has also expanded its services by adding components such as printers and weight indicators as well as updating the weighbridges themselves to newer, larger or higher capacity models.

Next to one of the weighbridges, a sign reads “Avery means Accuracy, Latha means Dependability.” Mr. S. Kesavan, owner and founder of the Latha Public Weighbridges, explains, “When we first decided to invest in a weighbridge, the main reason we used Avery Weigh-Tronix was the brand name. This extensive coverage enables the company to offer fast, efficient service across the whole of the country.

Weight indicators and other peripherals

In addition to the regular servicing, calibration and maintenance of the weighbridges, Avery Weigh-Tronix works with Latha Public Weighbridges to identify opportunities to improve their business. The new ZM305 weight indicator has recently been installed across a number of their sites. Designed specifically for use with weighbridges, the ZM305 GTN Inbound-Outbound indicator can also store Gross, Tare and Net weights against up to 1000 container/vehicle IDs.
