To work as part of a laboratory team in providing our customers with excellent, technically competent service and support and to calibrate our customers’ equipment to a high-standard to deliver a maximum five-day turnaround for all items sent to our Birmingham based laboratories.
What You Will Do
To work in one of our Birmingham based laboratories being able to perform calibration unsupervised in all the required disciplines.
To provide effective and technically competent metrology calibration services in a variety of disciplines in a laboratory environment.
Completion of calibrations within the given time frames set for the team.
To comply with all safe working practices outlined when working in the laboratory.
To accurately check-in and dispatch customer equipment. Take great care to ensure all equipment details and customer information are correct. Also ensuring the equipment is packaged effectively to avoid damage.
To ensure that customer reports are completed professionally and clearly articulate the outcome and recommendations of any visit.
To ensure that all stock, company equipment and tools are kept clean safe and secure and maintained to high standard.
To accurately operate the Indysoft commercial laboratory software in accordance with Company policy operating the system in real time unless limited by connection or safety.
To accurately review third party certificates to ensure accuracy prior to sending to the customer.
Diagnosis and repairs where appropriate.
To provide feedback and engagement to assist the laboratory in continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For
Someone who has a basic understanding of the Laboratories quality system requirements and follow guidelines set out in our scope of accreditation.
Someone with a high level of accurate and timely administrative skills when completing forms/records.
Effectively/professionally represent the Avery Weigh-Tronix.
To observe and comply with all Company policies.
Any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role and in-line with skills and experience.
To undertake and attend training courses necessary to develop and maintain competence to undertake the role.
5 GCSE qualifications at grades A-C, or equivalent
Desirable BTEC (Lv3) qualification in Mechanical / Electrical field, or equivalent
1-2 years prior experience in a similar role and within a Service Driven and highly Customer-focused environment.
Prior experience in a calibration background required.
