Corporate Social Responsibility

At Avery Weigh-Tronix, we hold ourselves to a very high standard for our responsibility our governance and ethics, our environment, our people and our communities and we support our employees and communities to make a difference in the world around us.

Environmental and Sustainability

We recognise that we have a responsibility – to our employees, customers and the environment – to employ processes, practices, materials or products that avoid or reduce environmental damage.

We’re committed to complying with relevant statutory requirements: we’re ISO14001 certified, which means we follow a set of standards for environmental management which helps us to (a) minimise how our operations negatively affect the environment; (b) comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements; and (c) continually improve in the above. Read our environmental policy here.

We have several green initiatives in place to help drive down our emissions, and we are also dedicated to achieving the ‘ITW Green House Gas’ reduction targets set through to 2030.  Our continuous monitoring and improvement are reinforced by regular environmental, health and safety compliance audits. These help to ensure that the company’s facilities meet regulatory requirements and reinforce our commitment to safeguarding the environment.

Giving back to our local communities

We provide all employees with two paid working days per year, where they can work for a local charity for the day. We feel it’s important to give back to the communities in which we work and serve. We also have regular food bank drives, charity days and various fund-raising days.

Our Ethics

Our ethical standards are rooted deep in our core values as a business, as an Avery Weigh-Tronix employee we sign a code of conduct which states our commitment to acting in a fair, ethical and honest manner in every part of our business dealings. Our suppliers are also obliged to adhere to our code of conduct and meet our high ethical standards.
