The console guides the driver through the weighing process via a series of on-screen prompts, using ANPR or RFID by means of identification. The system then collects and stores vehicle and weight data, transfers it directly into your weighbridge operator system, and provides the driver with a ticket/receipt for their transaction if required. Vehicle position sensors and induction loops ensure accurate vehicle positioning for enhanced accuracy, while two-way communication devices can also aid issue resolution without needing to have a dedicated weighbridge manager on site.
Overview
Driver-operated consoles (DOC) provide weighbridge owners the flexibility of running an unmanned weighbridge system, with no need for a dedicated operator. This solution is ideal for 24-hour operations, multi-site operations, or sites that need to be able to switch between driver operation during out-of-hours visits, or a weighbridge operator in core hours.
The large touch-screen console makes it simple for drivers to manage the weighing process, using a bar code scanner, printer and two-way communications system to guide them through the process.
The system includes RFID card readers for quick driver recognition and can include ANPR for vehicle recognition, printers for ticket distribution and intercoms for two-way driver interaction. By automating this part of the process, sites can actively improve security. It is also possible to add traffic barriers, lights, sensors and cameras, for complete process control and additional security. Optional software provides detailed audit trails for added security and data integrity. It can even monitor the activities of individual users to minimise fraud.
As drivers do not need to physically leave their vehicle during the weighing process, unmanned weighbridge systems are an ideal tool to improve business efficiency, driver turnaround time and health and safety on site.
Unmanned weighbridge systems can be used as completed site traffic management systems. By adding traffic barriers, traffic lights, ANPR cameras, and RFID card readers, it is possible to ensure accurate records of the vehicle entering and leaving the site, record driver and vehicle ID for security purposes, and use CCTV to record and check load data.
The unmanned weighbridge system can be combined with our weighbridge software, helping to keep the throughput of your site to a maximum. The software can be configured to capture the essential data you need for each transaction, making the process as fast and efficient as possible for the operator. For unmanned operations, the system can be preset with information such as driver IDs, vehicle tares, or product PLUs, ensuring minimal data entry for a speedy and hassle free transactions. The system can then be used to quickly translate transactions into invoices that can be printed or integrated with your accounts systems.
